Long winter

It was a long, long, LONG winter here. The entire family rotated colds like we were on a crazy amusement park ride. I think we spent maybe a week of winter well. I had some medical stuff going on and I went into hibernation mode. But the sun is now out and spring time is in full gear. Medical issues are better. Im doing happy dances over here for spring!!!

So with all this nice weather we have been getting our garden ready for planting. The tomatoes and other veggies are growing in the green room. They are growing nice and big. So big that its just about time for bigger pots. I stopped by our local feed and garden store to pick up some soil for my plants and also wanted to pick up some bricks to build a fire pit. Some how I ended up leaving with these cute little fluffy things instead of my bricks. I am in love! Seriously, have you ever seen anything so cute? I saw the and everything else just disappeared...

I got their home all set up in the basement green room. Safe and away from miss stinker kitty who thinks they might be a new toy just for her. I keep telling her they are not.. But I'm just a crazy human who is an just an annoyance to her.

We will be making them their permanent home here soon. Just as soon as they are big enough for the great big world outside!

EDIT- my ipad or maybe it's the blogger app has removed my photos.. Grrr will get this fixed soon.

Honey Tootsie Rolls

One of my favorite candies ever is footsie rolls. After Halloween ended I realized I not even once bought any!! My kids don't go out trick or treating Anymore, so I couldn't raid their candy stash. We have replaced the usual Halloween shenanigans with a scary movie, too much unhealthily foods and of course candy. Lots and lots of candy! But back to the reason for is post.. TOOTSIE ROLLS!!!

Storing and Drying Spent Grain

In a previous post I mentioned using my spent grain in my adventures in baking. I have came up with a few recipes, almost ready to share a few of them. Still got some tweaking to do until they are absolutely perfect. The OCD in me just wont allow me to post until I'm happy with them. lol

But back to the reason of this post... There are a few ways of storing all that grain that you have left over from your all grain or partial grain brew.
