I have a breakfast food that I absolutely love. It gets me energized with some natural sugars, I get some vitamins in me (I can't stand multi-vitamins. The smell and taste is nasty) and helps to get my body awake and ready to go for the day. What is this item you might ask? Why it's a smoothie of course! lol
When my husband was first diagnosed with cancer and was about to start his chemo therapy, I wanted to make sure that he would be as healthy as he possibly could be and that his immune system would be in good working order. One of my biggest fears was that he would get sick while his white blood counts were low and a spiraling effect would happen that would put him into the hospital. Thankfully that never happened and the oncologist told us at his appointment on Monday hat he is pretty sure that he is cancer free! Thank you Lord!! All his markers have came back in the clear and white blood count is back to normal. Now we just have to get the proof from a CT Scan. That happens next monday and then the following week we get the results! YAY!
Anyways, back on topic. Smoothies.. One of my all time favorites is what I call a creamy spinach strawberry. I dont really measure each item as I just throw it all into the blender. But here is the recipe if you would like to try it.
Creamy Stawberry Spinach Smoothie
3/4 c nonfat organic strawberry yogurt or whatever flavor you have on hand
a small handful of spinach
4-5 strawberries (fresh or frozen
1 small banana
1 tablespoon flax seed
water to get to desired consistancy

I've used all those ingredients for my smoothie, with the exception of the spinach. Sounds like a good way to add it into my diet easily. I'm glad your husband is doing well and hope you get the all clear soon.
