It's another beautiful day here in Montana so we decided to spend as much of the day as possible outside. We strolled the farmers market today for a few hours and got some delicious tomatoes and romaine. Yummy! It was really hard to contain myself to not eat all the cherry tomatoes on the drive home. They are so tasty.
Thankfully it seemed like most people we're selling garden plants. Other wise I could of easily dropped a hundred dollars on cool things that I really dont need and well I don't have the money with me either. Lol
Everyone around here is geared up for garden season and I am too! After the farmers market I dug out gardening journal. I looked over notes from last year, counted what seeds I have already purchased, what plants I got under the grow lights and started my planning. It took me a couple hours to get it done but I have it finally finished! Now I just need to wait for the night time temp to come up a bit and I will begin the rest of my planting! I already have Onions, Peas, Leeks, Shallots, Kale, Swiss Chard, Spinach and Radishes planted. I can't wait to start eating fresh veggies everyday.
We did an awesome job of sticking to our whole foods only while at the farmers market! I was so proud of myself..all this food vendors and my children were just begging for me to give in. Well and that little voice in my head was too.. She really REALLY wanted to try those mini donuts, pizza and those breakfast burritos! We stuckto our meal plan, came home from farmers market and the kids had left over pasta from last nights dinner. I had tomatoes with balsamic vinegar and toast. Yum yum!
Fajijta were on the menu for dinner but we were kid free. So we ate the remainder of the pasta with an orange mustard sauce. Was the perfect thing after a long busy day. I really need to find some snack recipes though.. I have had this killer craving for chocolate ice cream with peanut butter. :sigh:
Hope you all have a blessed day! :)

I've always wondered what folks in Montana were doing now and what you were planting as far as your growing season and zone. Looks like we're about the same. However, we've had SO much rain making it hard to get back out and work in anything. Can't put the horses out as they'll tear up my pasture, so... we wait and go to plan B. Love your talk on going to the farmer's market. Aren't they just the best! Debi
I was really contemplating on planting the rest of my stuff today but our sunshine has vanished and been replaced by clouds and rain. Which in a way is good since now i dont have to water the garden myself.. But I miss the sunshine. Rain kinda puts a damper on most outside stuff.. Hope you dont mind I checked out your blog and am now following you :)
